FAQs
Do the amplifiers sound good at low volume?
Yes. Valentini amplifiers are designed to retain their tonal character and responsiveness at lower volumes through carefully implemented master-volume circuits. Keep in mind that even a five-watt tube amplifier driving a 12-inch speaker can become surprisingly loud when turned up.
2. Are there certain guitars that sound better with your amplifiers?
Our amplifiers are designed to preserve the natural character of the instrument and respond faithfully to the player’s dynamics. They perform equally well with single-coil, humbucker and other pickup configurations.
3. Can I order my amplifier in a custom finish?
Yes. Because every amplifier is built to order, we may be able to accommodate custom coverings, grille cloths and other cosmetic details. Contact us with your request to discuss availability, lead time and any additional cost.
4. Can I request modifications to the controls, circuit or output power?
Certain custom modifications may be possible because our amplifiers are built to order. Contact us with your requirements (use the form on the website or send us an email), and we will determine whether the requested changes can be incorporated without compromising the amplifier’s sound, reliability or safety. Additional costs and lead time may apply.
5. Are your effects loops buffered?
Our effects loops are passive, keeping the signal path simple and direct. They work well with most pedal-based setups, although results can depend on the input and output characteristics of the connected equipment. Players can add an external buffer when required by their particular effects chain.
6. Are there speakers that work better with your amplifiers?
Each cabinet is supplied with a speaker selected to complement the amplifier’s circuit and intended tonal character. Players are welcome to experiment with other speakers, provided the speaker’s impedance matches the amplifier’s specified output and its power rating is suitable. An incorrect load can damage the amplifier.
7. Where are your amplifiers made?
All Valentini Music Instruments products are hand-built in the United States at our workshop in Glendora, California.
